Happy New Year!!! I hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas Holiday, and are spending the day with your favorite people, eating some delicious food and sipping on your favorite festive beverage! I have been enjoying these in-between Christmas and New Year’s days, where I don’t know what day it is. I have taken some time away from social media to be more in the present with my family, and I have loved every minute of it!
As 2018 comes to a close, I wanted to put together this post with the sole intention of saying THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to YOU for reading this, and for being such a supportive community! I am truly grateful for an amazing group of friends, some that I have never met but get to connect with on a daily basis via this blog and Instagram. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be able to pursue this blog. Thank you for believing in my passion, and for liking and commenting, reading and interacting with my creative ideas and blog posts. 2018 has been a year of incredible memories and growth, both personally and professionally for me, and I can’t say thank you enough for your support!
Before setting any goals for the next year, I like to look back on all the positives, and praise the accomplishments big and small, for what they are. Thought I’d share some of those on here to look back on later.
Accomplishments of 2018
- We survived our 8th year as parents, 9 years of marriage, and 10th Christmas together! That alone is something to be grateful for! I am thankful for my hard-working husband and loving family. Brynn turned 2 years old and is the bossiest and sweetest 2 year old toddler you’ll ever meet. Bryce turned 8 just a few days ago, and continues to WOW us with his knowledge and passion for sports.
- My sister got married to the love of her life in February, and I of course, took my Matron of Honor duties very seriously! Her wedding and beautiful photography was featured on Weddings in Houston Magazine. Her wedding colors were white, blush, and gold.
- Wedding festivities called for a fabulous girls trip to Vegas! We got zero sleeps, but we laughed, danced, and made it a crazy fun time to celebrate!
- After 8 years of teaching the same grade level, I jumped on the opportunity to teach 2nd grade, and I absolutely love it! I hate change, but this has been that good kind of change, and a year of professional growth for me as an educator. Bryce and I have shared so many sweet memories while being in 2nd grade together. I love teaching this age group. They are full of hugs, humor, and innocence. They still look at you, the teacher, like the most important person in their lives, who must know EVERYTHING!
- I turned 30 years old! SO CRAZY to think! When I was little, I thought 30 was so old! Now, I feel like I’m still a kid sometimes. The secret to staying young is to LAUGH and get all the laughing wrinkles instead, EAT slowly, DRINK a ton of water, and lie about your age!
- July 13th, 2018, marked my 1st year Blogging! So much you can learn and self-teach in ONE year! A million THANKS to you guys for supporting this little hobby-turned business of mine! I told myself 2 years ago, when I first started researching and planning how to start my blog, that I wanted a place where I could document Motherhood in Style and share my two cents with the world. I had no clue about what I was doing or where this would lead me. But here I am, still doing it, because I love it! I love the friendships I’ve made, I love sharing, and the opportunity to work with brands that speak my vision.
- Through my blog I got to work with local and bigger brands like Johnson & Johnson’s, NESTLE NIDO, and Naturally White. I am beyond thankful to be able to voice their vision through my words and photography. I can not wait to share projects that I have in store with you!
I hope you have a sparkling New Year!!!

Don’t second guess what you want to do, just DO IT!
God is so good, and He’s got you!
