Pineapple Dress | Toddler Pineapple Swimsuit
Where are my pineapple lovers at? With this sweet fruit, being one of the biggest style trends right now, along with it being on my top list of tropical fruits, I knew exactly what I wanted our next party theme to be: “PARTY LIKE A PINEAPPLE!”
One of my favorite memories this month was celebrating Brynnie’s 2nd and my 30th birthday with family and friends in our “tropical tiki home.” We recently moved and did not have time for a house warming party, so this also served as an opportunity to bring everyone over to see the new house. Brynn and I are days apart from sharing a birthday so doing a joint celebration with my mini was not only a time saver, money saver, but it was a dream come true! Haha! I had so much fun planning this “Party like a Pineapple” party. Sharing a bit of the fun, vendors and details below with you.
Party Colors: Hot pink, bright yellow, and black-and-white stripes
Seriously? How could I not use real pineapples for decoration? They are inexpensive and so fun! I used a total of 5 throughout the party. I got this Felt Letter Board on Amazon, and I was dying to use it for the party! If you’re not familiar with “Stand tall, wear a crown, stay sweet on the inside,” it means chin up, be proud of yourself, own it, but stay humble and sweet on the inside, just like a pineapple.
This is probably my life motto! From my dance/drill team days of having to literally keep our chin up on the field and in dances, I always grew up with reminders about posture and the importance of keeping your shoulders back. “Enderesate, no te agas corchucha, Mi Reyna!” –My Mami’s reminders still to this day! The older I got, I realized good posture called for confidence in everything I set my mind to-job interviews, first generation college student, mommying, and now- finding balance between work life, fun, and motherhood. Coming from an immigrant family, and seeing life in another country through my parent’s eyes, keeps me grounded and sweet on the inside. Don’t ever forget where you came from. Be proud of your family, your culture, and you! Read more about my family here.
Drew played bartender, and made us some delicious home-made Pina Coladas! I’ll have to get his recipe later for you guys. Fun fact: Drew used to bartend for years when we first met, and would made me some pretty bomb drinks. Actually he still does! But it’s singular like he teases me: “drink.” I’m good after 1! #foreveralightweight
This “Island Party/Tiki Bar/Tropical Drinks” sign was $1.00 at Dollar Tree! I also got our drink umbrellas from there for $1.00.
“TWO-TTI FRUITY”
Isn’t she a cutie???!!!
These cookies were gifted to us by my Sister. I loved how well they went with our party theme!
The cake, cupcakes, flowers, and pineapples were all from HEB!
And last but not least, we all had so much fun the photo booth wall!
